LEONA LEWIS GOT PUNCHED

Leona Lewis was reportedly punched in the side of the head during a book signing today in London, Yahoo! U.K. reports. Lewis was at Piccadilly Circus to sign copies of her autobiography Dreams when, 90 minutes in, “a guy came up and punched her to the side of the head,” Lewis’ spokesperson said. Initial reports indicated Lewis was slapped, but her spokesperson, who witnessed the attack, said the altercation was more severe than that. According to witnesses at the signing, the incident was “unprovoked,” with the suspect reportedly approaching Lewis to have his book signed, and after she looked up following the signing, the suspect punched her.

Police were quickly called to the scene and arrested an unnamed man “following reports of an assault against a female.” Witnesses tell the BBC that the suspect was “laughing” while security wrestled him down following the incident. Lewis, who suffered bruising on the side of her head, was so “shaken” by the incident that she was forced to cancel the remainder of the signing. Thankfully, she did not require hospital care, but she did cancel a BBC appearance scheduled for later that day.

Lewis recently performed as part of VH1’s Divas special in New York.

MARIAH CAREY TO DEBUT AT 3#

In what was a very close race for top album sales, Mariah Carey's Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel ended up at #3 with 172,742 copies sold behind Paramore's Brand New Eyes (184,547) and Barbara Streisand's Love Is The Answer (176,663), #1 and #2, respectively, in Hits Daily Double's final Album Sales tally.

The official album sales figures will be determined by SoundScan whose data apply to the Billboard charts; and will be released later this week.

Is Paramore Going To Blast Past Mariah On The Charts?

In what’s shaking up to be a battle of the butterfles, the bean-counters at industry rag Hits are claiming that brand new eyes from the Hayley Williams-led Tennessee outfit Paramore is, after its first day of official availability, on pace to outsell Mariah Carey’s Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel this week by a margin of about 20,000 copies; Paramore’s projected sales are in the 180k-190k range, while Mariah’s are around 160-170k. And as if that wasn’t enough to rile up the chart-obsessed lambs, turns out that Barbra Streisand’s Love Is The Answer is projected to sell between 150,000 and 160,000 copies! Hits‘ one-day projections for this week’s biggest debuts after the jump.

And Mariah’s faithful are nothing but devoted to her, and her efforts to be the chart-toppingest singer who ever topped a chart ever. So things can evolve! Either way, Mimi and her fans can take consolation in the fact that they’re not Madonna.

Mariah Says Comparing New LP to Butterfly is a Big Deal

Mariah Carey's Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, which has already spawned the much-debated hit "Obsessed," is Carey's latest mix of R&B, hip-hop and pop. And the singing superstar has been hearing that it's her best album since Butterfly.

"I love it. I really love it," she told MTV News while promoting her flick "Precious." "People were saying, I mean, just the songs they heard, it's like their favorite since Butterfly, which is a big deal."

She can't help but be excited about the comparison, since she holds the 1997 album close to her heart. "Butterfly is kind of like my signature album and, to me, my best work," she said. "It's not necessarily the biggest album, which would be Music Box, but it's a very important record in an artistic kind of [way]."

Carey knows a thing or two about taking a classic song and putting her spin on it – in the past she's covered everything from the Jackson 5's "I'll Be There" and Def Leppard's "Bringin' on the Heartbreak" to Journey's "Open Arms" and Badfinger's "Without You" – so it shouldn't come as a surprise that this time around, she tackled Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is."

"You know, every now and then, I pull out a rock cover, and it does what it does," Carey said.

The Rise and Fall of Perez Hilton

Perez Hilton has had many feuds ever since he began his blogging career with his website perezhilton.com (formerly pagesixsixsix.com) five years ago. The self-proclaimed, "Queen of All Media" has made a career--and his fortune—off of controversies; however, his latest spectacle may bring the Internet czar to his downfall.

During an altercation with the Black Eyed Peas'Will.i.am at the Much Music Awards in Canada, Perez called him a f**king f*ggot," which resulted in an media uproar.

How can Perez call Will.iam a "f*ggot" when he is the one who publicly led the crusade to legalize gay marriage? This is the same guy who called for the firing of Isaiah Washington from ABC television seriesGrey's Anatomy for making the same homophobic remarks and called for his readers to do the same.

The man who has made millions off of his loyal readers is now in risk of losing them. There are currently petitions floating around the Internet asking that his site be removed and another petition asking that his nomination for the Teen Choice Awards be recalled.

Perez is nominated for the “Choice Music: Fab-u-lous” and “Choice Web Star” categories, but 100,000 signatures could change everything. There are also other petitions asking that Perez be removed from radio stations, TV shows and off the internet entirely.

Perez's celebrity "friends" have also turned against the blogger. John Mayer recently blasted him on twitter calling him a "Dumb S**t" that "lacks control." KTLA news anchor Sam Rubin dedicated a part of his morning broadcast slamming Perez for dishing the dirt and not being able to take it himself.

The gay community, who is the backbone for his success isn’t happy with his derogatory anti-gay slurs and find Perez "dangerous." Perez's anti gay slurs against Will.i.am has even upset GLAAD, the same organization that gave him his first job in Hollywood. GLAAD released a statement saying, "for someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is, quote, 'The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,' is incredibly dangerous."

Instead of apologizing for his behavior, Perez released his own statement playing the victim and said that GLAAD was "criticizing me for how I non-violently dealt with a very scary situation."

While he may not have thrown a punch, his words were violent enough. His pompous attitude about the situation, repeatedly calling Will.i.am a "thug disguised as a musician," is just pitiful and pathetic. Interestingly enough, Perez is actually shocked by the backlash. Does he think he can just walk up to people, instigate drama, use derogatory comments and walk away brushing the dirt off his shoulders?

During a recent poll, 91% of Hollyscoop readers sided with Will.i.am. Reader ness01 even commented, "If Will.I.Am would of called him the "F" word it would of been a scandal. Perez thinks he can use it & its ok, no its not."

McSteamy's Scandalous Threesome With Wife & Madam

Eric Dane and his wife Rebecca Gayheart may seem like a regular old couple, but in private, they like to make home videos! The McSteamy kind!

A very strange video that the couple allegedly made a few years ago has just surfaced on the internet. It features Dane and Rebecca in the buff, rolling around their bed with their friend, former beauty queen Kari Ann Peniche, talking about what their porn names would be.

"My alter-ego name is Peter," Eric said, adding, "my dog growing up was called Cocaine, and I lived on Manor Drive, so I'm Cocaine Manor."

At one point, Rebecca says she has to lie down because she's "so high."

The trio appears to be high on something, though it’s tough to tell what exactly. Another portion of the video portrays Rebecca and Kari Ann naked in a bathtub, talking gibberish about rubber duckies.

Gawker has edited down the video from 12 minutes to 4, and covered up McSteamy’s junk in the process. Just a forewarning…the video is quite shocking, especially seeing how high they all seem to be. Ironically enough, Kari Ann appeared on the last season of Celebrity Rehab, and was kicked off for throwing vases at other contestants.

This isn't the first time Rebecca has found herself caught up in a scandal. This past June the National Enquirer released a photo of Rebecca back in 2003 high and naked in a bathtub with another woman and a crack pipe.

The photo was taken just one year before Rebecca married Eric Dane. She was reportedly posing for her boyfriend at the time who said he wanted nude photos of her as a "turn on." According to the publication, she reportedly said she wanted to smoke some crack first before posing for the photos, but it looks like they knocked out two birds with one stone.

Showing off her growing baby bump, Kourtney Kardashian was spotted making her rounds in Calabasas on Wednesday (September 23).

The E! reality cutie was first spotted out at Marmalade Cafe for breakfast with babydaddy Scott Disick, then dropping her man off at home before hitting the gym for an hour long yoga session.

Meanwhile, Kourtney spent the previous day out shopping with Scott and sister Khloe, proudly proclaiming, “I love being pregnant.”

Piping in, Scott then said, “I never in a million years thought she’d like to walk around with a belly and be happy. She’s actually been on her best behavior somehow, which is weird. I thought I was gonna be in for a lot more than I am...She has an attitude even not pregnant, so I was used to it. She’s actually been pretty wonderful the whole time, through it all.”

And while they’re anxiously awaiting their first child, it doesn’t sound as if Scott’s ready for more… yet.

He tells, “I don’t want her to get ahead of herself and think we’re gonna do this right away again.”

WHITNEY CRAKS ON GMA

*Whitney Houston's "Good Morning America" concert in Central Park was either triumphant or tragic, depending on whom you ask. Based on Internet reviews, most are just happy to have her back - despite her vocals that swayed from strained to winded.

"I’m so sorry. I did Oprah. I’ve been talking for so long," Whitney said, explaining her weakened voice after the four-song set. "I talked so much, my voice," she said. "I shouldn’t be talking. I should be singing."

The 5000 or so die hard fans who waited hours in line for Tuesday's taping didn't seem to care about her vocal shortcomings – as the performer sang and danced her way through current singles "Million Dollar Bill" and "I Look to You"; and old faves "My Love is Your Love" and "I'm Every Woman."

She brought her 16-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina onstage midway through the second song, "My Love Is Your Love." During the number, Whitney pointed at her and sang over and over, "This is me and Bobby's baby."

Houston got emotional for "I Look to You," which she belted directly to her mother, soul and gospel singer Cissy Houston, who was in the audience.

By the time she got to her fourth and final song, "I'm Every Woman," Houston was completely winded and relied on the audience to finish most of her lines.

Houston shared a warm reunion hug with "GMA" host Diane Sawyer, who last interviewed her seven years ago for the infamous "Primetime" special in which she famously said "crack is whack."

"I was worried for you," Diane Sawyer said, bringing up the 2002 interview.

"Well, don't be worried anymore," Houston responded.

Asked by Sawyer what brought her back to the stage after such a long absence, she answered, "My faith, the love and support of my fans, which I do have. That's basically what it is."

Meanwhile, Houston discusses her journey back from drugs and addiction in a cover story for the new issue of Ebony magazine.

"I shed a lot of stuff, a lot of unnecessary weight in the last three or four years," she tells the magazine. "I left a lot of old luggage behind, and when I did, the blessings just started pouring on me, and the light in my spirit started to lift again."

The songstress also opens up about her daughter and future plans in the October issue, which arrives on newsstands Tuesday, Sept. 8.
